A green skirt from MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA line 6. The skirt is cut so that it flares towards the waist, but is made from a soft viscose sateen that hangs gently against the body rather than sitting out as a more structured A line skirt would. The sateen fabric gives the skirt a crisp handle and pleasing, subtle sheen. The waist of the skirt is finished with a black, contrasting elasticated band, which means it should accommodate a range of waist measurements. The waistband has been attached using an exposed flatlock stitch (commonly used for knitwear such as sweaters) and the hem finished with overlocking, which gives the otherwise cleanly constructured skirt a slightly rough appearance. As is customary for line 6, the tag has been attached to the skirt with a single white straight stitch along the top of the tag, and allowed to show on the outside of the skirt.
